| The number of people interested in becoming a part of the wedding industry has soared in the last few years. Please understand that this is not a hobby. This is a career and we take it very seriously. Television has prompted a lot of interest because people think it's glamorous and fun. While what we do is exciting, it is also very detail oriented and a lot of hard work. If you are seriously interested in getting into this field, it is a must that you begin educating yourself about the industry before applying for employment. After you have taken some courses, then it is important for you to align yourself with professionals in the business and study as an intern and/or apprentice for at least a year. It is not enough to read a book, plan your own wedding or watch a wedding program and decide you want to be a wedding planner. Becoming a planner is more than taking a course, picking out a name and purchasing business cards. I am not trying to dissuade anyone from pursing the career, I am being honest and want you to understand that this is a serious commitment and requires sacrifice. If you are ready to embark on one of the most rewarding careers there are, we welcome you to explore our programs outlined below. Deidre Gray, President/Lead Consultant |
